Pastor Land often jokes that he “backed into” the ministry.
He spent many years teaching in Christian schools and working in various other ministries. In 2005 he became teaching director of the Gastonia Men’s Community Bible Study class, which our church has hosted since 2013. In 2007 he became music director and associate pastor at North Main Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC, serving until 2013. During his time there, the church licensed and ordained him into the ministry.
When the previous pastor of Ranlo Baptist Church (RBC) left at the end of 2015, he was asked to do pulpit supplementation, eventually becoming interim pastor and then full-time pastor in 2016. His goal for RBC is for it to be a model of what God wants a New Testament local church to be. He emphasizes Bible preaching and teaching, Christ-honoring music, and loving unity among church members.
