I fall short every day of who I want to be
Not always looking to the one who can help me see.
So many times I leave the path I know I should be on
Stumbling down a weary road leading me away from home.
Perception and knowledge hinder the route I know I must pursue
I’m in my head far too much to see a way through.
But then I stop and say, this is not the road for me
I hear someone calling and I turn to see.
In the distance I see the shape of what looks like a man
His arms stretched out, His voice so clear, now I know His plan.
I begin to run but hesitate, what would He want with me?
Punishment for a wandering heart or words spoken angrily?
Peace begins to fill my soul as His words envelop my heart
“Come and follow Me and we will never, ever part.”
Now my path I know, my journey is very clear
My eyes are on Heaven as I travel this frontier.
