I love the springtime when everything turns green, the flowers begin to bloom and the birds began to sing. God’s creations are at their finest in the spring. The songs I learned as a child fill my heart especially “The Red Red Robin”.
When the red red robin comes bob bob bobin’ along, along.
There’ll be no more sobbing when he starts throbbing his old sweet song.
I’m just a kid again doing what I did again singing a song.
When the red red robin comes bob bob bobin’ along.
Recently as I sat in my backyard drinking my morning coffee, I watched as a mother robin and her baby bobbed through the yard. When suddenly the Mother robin found a worm, turned to her baby and gave the tiny robin food. This is how God is I thought to myself. God is constantly watching over His children.
Our backyard is filled with all types of birds in the spring. There are cardinals, blue birds, robins, finches, woodpeckers, humming birds, mocking birds and yes there are sparrows.
Luke 12:7
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
What a comfort to know that God considers me valuable.
Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely?
And long for heaven and home.
When Jesus is my portion
My constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me.
