We are creatures of habit. Is your life filled with daily routines? When your feet hit the floor in the morning, what are your first thoughts? My first thoughts are, what day is it? What do I have to do today? Being retired, I don’t have the daily routines I had when I had a fulltime job. My “to do” list changes daily. But one thing never changes. I begin my day thanking the Lord for giving me another day to serve Him and then I ask Him for His guidance.
Luke 9:23
“Then He said to them all,
If anyone wants to come with Me,
He must deny himself.
Take up his cross DAILY and follow me”
Following Jesus is a daily journey not just a Sunday morning thing to do. He asks for all of us to give our all every day; seven days a week. Start your day with Jesus. Grab that cup of coffee, notice the letters.

Put Jesus first. God is there. Let Him know, you know, He is there. When you thank Him for another day, ask for His guidance. Let Him lead and follow Him. As Christians we are called to walk with God and to obey His commandments.
We live a life where “things” tend to get in our way. Change your habits. Start your day by finding a quiet place to talk to your Lord, read a daily devotion and pick up your Bible and read God’s word. You will be amazed how well the rest of your day goes. When things go wrong and they will, remember what you asked Him for earlier that day. Give Him the reins and let Him lead you.
“Are you serious about wanting God’s guidance to become a personal reality in your life? The first step is to tell God that you know you can’t
manage your own life; that you need His help.” Catherine Marshall

Proverbs 15:8
“The prayer of the upright is His delight”
You have heard the expression: “When Mama’s happy, everyone is happy.” Well, when God is happy, you are happy and all the lives you touch are happy.
A wise man once said:
Proverbs 16:9
“A man’s heart plans his way
But the Lord directs his steps.”
